Every time I travel, I find myself wondering if I have it right this time when packing my bag(s). It’s always a careful balancing act, ensuring that I have everything I need without exceeding weight limits or dealing with restricted items. Recently, the TSA has begun using new scanners that have made the process slightly more streamlined. Some say these new CT scanners will make traveling security more streamlined and less stressful 🙂
However, does this change provide the relief of not worrying about carrying toiletries, and liquids?
Please note that the 3-1-1 liquids rule still applies — however, some airports with advanced CT scanners may not be as strict. It’s best to check your departure airport policy. See the links below for additional details.

Major hub airports received priority for CT scanner deployment, creating a patchwork of liquid policies across the country. Airports confirmed to have CT scanner checkpoints with potential exemptions include Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson (ATL), New York’s JFK, Los Angeles International (LAX), Chicago O’Hare (ORD), Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), and several others.
